Pijus Ash

Biography

Pijus Ash is a Kolkata based journalist, has 17 years of experience. Though he had spent mostly in print media, he is also an active blogger and spent a couple of years in news channels. He has been active in the area of science writing and frequent contributor to the social and rural issues. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Editor in ‘Ei Samay’ daily newspaper from India’s largest media house ‘The Times Group’. He is entrusted with the planning and production of feature pages, which combine city life, education, health, and entertainment. His international experience includes assignments in France and Singapore. He received a Bachelor degree from the University of Calcutta, studied Global Journalism in Netherlands receiving a fellowship. Pijus also received media fellowship to cover International HIV conference in Paris. Apart from reporting and editing, he likes writing travelogue and photography. Though he is purely an amateur photographer, still his photographs selected in ‘Getty’ and ‘Shutterstock’ image service. Pijus is a member of ‘International Aids Society’ and ‘Kolkata Press Club’. As recognition of his journalistic efforts, he was honored twice and received tour-invitation from China’s Peoples Institute.
